BSNL Chairman and Managing Director, Robert Ravi said, “We can clearly state that we are not going to increase our tariffs in the near future. BSNL is interested in keeping its customers happy and winning their trust. We do not see any need to increase the tariff.” The company is also planning to increase its user base. Its target is to achieve about 25 percent market share by next year. Recently, private telecom companies Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio BSNL has also made preparations to install ATM like machines in the India Mobile Congress held last week. You will be able to get the SIM card through machines or self-care app.
These vending machines will be installed at busy places like railway stations and airports. This will make it easier for BSNL to increase the number of its customers. These SIM vending machines will be especially helpful for those people who do not want to go to BSNL offices or exchanges. The company has also taken measures to prevent spam calls on its mobile network. To deal with spam calls, it will use solutions related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has also started taking strict action regarding spam calls. Recently, telecom companies had disconnected more than 2.75 lakh mobile connections to curb unregistered telemarketers. Along with this, many firms were also blacklisted.
Apart from this, BSNL has also prepared to enter the low price mobile segment. The company has partnered with Karbonn Mobiles to introduce an exclusive SIM handset bundling offer. These handsets will compete with Jio Bharat 4G feature phones. With this, users will not need to buy expensive smartphones to use the company’s 4G services.
