Honda Starts Bookings of Activa Electric, Range of 102 Km

Booking for the electric version of the popular scooter Activa of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter (HMSI), one of the big two-wheeler companies, has started. Recently the company launched Activa e and QC 1. Booking of these electric scooters can be done at select dealerships of the company for Rs 1,000.

Activa e has been made available in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Booking of QC 1 can be done in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Chandigarh and Hyderabad. Information about the prices of these electric scooters can be found at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo to be held this month. The design of Activa e is similar to this petrol-powered electric scooter. The annual sales of this best-selling scooter in the country are more than 25 lakh units. Two swappable battery packs are provided in its electric version. It has three riding modes – Standard, Sport and ECON.

The range of this electric scooter is about 102 kilometers on a single charge. It has been provided with advanced features like Honda RoadSync Duo, through which riders can connect their smartphone via Bluetooth to make phone calls as well as use navigation. Activa E competes with electric scooters from Ola Electric, TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto. The price of this electric scooter can be kept affordable. This will make it easier for HMSI to compete with the already existing companies in the electric-two-wheeler market.

The company has introduced QC 1 especially for the Indian market. Its design is similar to Activa Electric. This electric scooter has a 1.5 kWh battery pack. QC 1 has a range of about 80 kilometers on a single charge. However, it has a drum brake in the front. Its 5 inch LCD instrument panel shows speed and battery level. QC 1 has a USB Type-C port for charging devices. Sales of electric scooters have increased rapidly in the last few years. In this segment, Bajaj Auto has achieved the highest share leaving Ola Electric behind. Japan’s Honda Motor plans to double the driving range of its electric cars in the next few years. Solid-state battery will be used for this.
