Ola Electric Stores to Reach 4,000 on Christmas, Its Target to be Present in Every Town

Ola Electric, one of the big electric two-wheeler companies, is preparing to increase the number of its stores to 4,000 on Christmas on December 25. The company has said that it plans to reach every city. For the last few months, the company has faced problems due to complaints regarding lack of service.

Ola Electric said in a statement, “The company will expand its sales and service network to 4,000 stores on December 25. This will be one of the fastest launches of EV distribution. The company has expanded its affordable and superior electric vehicles with approximately 3,200 new stores. Preparations have been made to deliver quality EVs to every city.” Earlier this month, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) had asked to provide additional documents regarding the notice given to the company on alleged violation of consumer rights and unfair trade practices.

Sales of electric two-wheelers have increased rapidly in the last few years. Ola Electric has the highest share in this segment. In early October, CCPA had issued a show cause notice to the company regarding alleged violation of consumer rights, misleading advertisements and unfair business practices. The company has also made efforts to resolve service related complaints. In this segment, Ola Electric is facing tough competition from competitors like Bajaj Auto. The company has added a new feature to the Ola HyperService application to inform customers about the service status. CEO of Ola Electric, Bhavish Aggarwal has said that with this, customers will be able to get updates about the service of electric scooters.

The company’s sales declined by approximately 33 percent in November. According to vehicle portal data, registrations of Ola Electric’s electric scooters in November stood at 27,746 units. This is a decline of about 33 percent in the sales of Ola Electric on a month-on-month basis. There was a surge in the company’s sales due to the festive season in October. Last month, Ola Electric’s market share declined to 24 percent. This figure was more than 30 percent in October. Recently the company had also increased its portfolio of electric scooters.
