Ola Electric to Add New Features in Its E-Scooters With MoveOS 5

Ola Electric, one of the largest electric two-wheeler companies, has announced the release of MoveOS 5 beta for its electric scooters. MoveOS has been provided as the operating system in the company’s S1 electric scooters. The same operating system will also be used in its electric motorcycles.

The company has given information about some features available with MoveOS 5. These include group navigation, live location sharing and road trip mode through Ola Maps. Apart from this, features like smart charging, smart park and TPMS alert will also be added. Krutrim AI assistant will help in using these features.

Ola Electric is preparing to increase the number of its stores four times on Christmas on 25th December. The company has said that it plans to reach every city. For the last few months, the company has faced problems due to complaints regarding lack of service. Recently, Ola Electric had said, “The company will increase its sales and service network to 4,000 stores on December 25. This will be one of the fastest launches of EV distribution. The company has expanded its affordable and Preparations have been made to deliver better quality EVs to every city.” Earlier this month, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) had asked to provide additional documents regarding the notice given to the company on alleged violation of consumer rights and unfair trade practices.

Sales of electric two-wheelers have increased rapidly in the last few years. Ola Electric has the highest share in this segment. In early October, CCPA had issued a show cause notice to the company regarding alleged violation of consumer rights, misleading advertisements and unfair business practices. The company has also made efforts to resolve service related complaints. In this segment, Ola Electric is facing tough competition from rivals like Bajaj Auto. The company has added a new feature to the Ola HyperService application to inform customers about the service status. With this, customers will get updates about the service of electric scooter.
