Report According to, now the Chemung County Health Department and the New York State Department of Environmental Protection have officially euthanized this squirrel.

The department says New York resident Mark Longo illegally possessed a raccoon and a squirrel. They have been confiscated due to rabies reasons. The statement also said that during the investigation the squirrel had bitten a person.
