Poco X7 5G Price in India, Availability
Poco X7 5G has been introduced in two variants in India. Its base 8GB + 128GB configuration is priced at Rs 21,999, while the 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs 23,999. It comes in Glacier Green, Cosmic Silver and Poco Yellow color options. The review unit we received is in ‘Poco Yellow color’, which has 8GB RAM, 256GB storage.
design
Poco X7 5G is primarily for those who want a designer phone that delivers performance. Inside the box, you get the phone, USB Type-C cable, charger, SIM ejector tool, user guide and protective case. The back of the phone feels absolutely premium. It will fit perfectly with the looks of Gen Z i.e. youth. But I personally did not like such a big branding of Poco on the phone. Its leather finish is excellent and does not allow the phone to slip from the hand. Had the camera module been a little more compact, the look and feel would have been more ideal. Still, in terms of design it can be given full marks.
The company has worked hard on the build quality and durability of POCO X7 5G. This phone supports IP66 + IP68 + IP69 ratings, which means that it will be safe to some extent from dust and water damage. The power button and volume rocker of the phone are on its right side. Their positioning was right for me. SIM tray is provided at the bottom. It also has Type-C port and speaker. There is also a speaker at the top of the phone, making it a dual speaker phone.
display
The phone has a 6.67 inch AMOLED curved display. Which offers 1.5K resolution. To protect from scratches, it has the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The display has a peak brightness of 3000 nits, which makes the screen visible even in sunlight. The refresh rate of 120Hz and touch sampling rate of 240Hz make POCO X7 5G great for gaming and smooth scrolling.
In my initial use, the display color-contrast seemed balanced to me. Due to the curved display, the bezels are very thin and the display is visible throughout the phone. Its punch hole cutout is also quite small, inside which a 20MP selfie camera is installed. Its in-display fingerprint sensor has fast response. But you should buy this phone only when you are comfortable with a phone with a larger display.
RAM + Chipset
POCO X7 5G has MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset which is built on 4nm TSMC process. The company sent us the Yellow variant, which has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The initial performance of the phone seems fine to me. Apps are opening and closing rapidly. It is bearing the load of 10 to 12 tabs in Chrome browser without any interruption. The gaming performance of the phone is still awaited, for which you will have to wait for its detailed review.
Battery, Software
POCO X7 5G runs on HyperOS based on Android 14. The company has promised 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates. POCO X7 5G has a 5500mAh battery, it supports 45W turbo charging. It is claimed that this phone will be charged 100% in 47 minutes. In initial use, the battery of the phone seems durable and charging is also fast. However, the battery test of the phone will tell how much power it has. We will also give you the results of the battery test in the review.
camera
POCO X7 5G has a 50MP main rear camera. It supports optical image stabilization and electronic image stabilization. If I explain in simple language, the pictures you click with this camera will show more stability. It has an 8MP ultra-wide camera, which captures a field of view of 120 degrees. It has another 2MP sensor, which will be useful in macro shots. The phone has a 20MP selfie camera. I liked the results of the selfie camera in the initial shots. Details are coming out in the photo. The selfie camera is capturing the kind of pictures that people like to share on social media these days.
POCO X7 5G has many AI features like AI Smart-Clip, AI beauty and AI Cutout. Some features will be available in January’s OTA update, the most special of which is AI Erase Pro. By using this any object can be removed from the photo. In the review we will also explore the AI features of this phone. You will know how useful they are in daily use.
